 Rectifiers operation

Rectifiers

Rectifier is an electronic device which is used for converting an alternating voltage to direct current into a unidirectional voltage or current.

The input to a rectifier is an ac whereas its output is unidirectional or dc.

OPERATION
The basic building block of a regulated dc power supply are:
A step down transfer
A rectifier
Filter
A voltage regulator

Types

Half-Wave Rectifier

Full-Wave Rectifier

_ FWR With Centre taped transformer

     _ FW Bridge Rectifier
